AAS at the EXTREMITY GAMES 5

Extremity Games was so fun this year! Much smaller then the years before but much more intimate. This years event was at a new venue called the Texas Ski Ranch. It is the best venue by far, everything is in one spot and there is a great breeze that blows through, so although its 100 degrees outside, it doesn't feel like it! Make sure to keep up on the AAS and Extremity website for information about EX 6! Hope to see you there!

Make new friends in Texas.

X Games Adventure Begins.......Day 1, We go...

After months of planning the day finally arrived to head out of Tahoe to L.A. for X Games 15. With the Super X Adaptive Finals and the Adaptive Skateboard Park Jam only days away I must have seemed like I escaped from the psych ward while I was loading the truck; mumbling bag sizes, drving routes, and my over all check list outloud as I wandered back and forth from our garage. The packing puzzle was eventually completed in the back of Tundra and signified that it was time to roll.

Amy and I said our good byes to our sweet dog, Roxy, and started the long drive to Los Angeles. The further south we drove the hotter it got and the faster the traffic seemed to flow; hotter, faster, hotter, faster. I love the mountains but couldn't wait for the X Games.

On our way down to L.A. we stopped through Fresno to pick up AAS Advocate Buddy Elias. Buddy is a single above knee amputee and all around amazing athlete. He skates and snowboards. After a quick visit with his family we stuffed Buddy in the back of the truck and got back on the road.

With only 4 hours of driving left to L.A. there was nothing in our way. We pushed straight thru to the Custom Hotel. "Oh Custom Hotel let me count the ways.....". What a crazy hotel! It's worth a stop if your looking for a hotel near LAX Airport. At least stop in for a drink at Hopsctoch Pool Bar. Any way we were greeted by a familiar family in the lobby pictured to the right. Their a bit sheepish but very nice.....

The next morning we added Oscar Loreto and Rob Nelson to our list as we got preped for a day of skating and visits to Vans and Element.
